AIR BRAKE COURSE 'Z' ENDORSEMENT

Course Description:

Air Brake Endorsement (Z) course intended to provide information on laws regulations and correct procedures required to drive the vehicle equipped with Air Brake System as used on trucks, tractors and buses.

It is mandatory for the driver of an air-brake equipped vehicle must have a ’’Z’’ endorsement on their licence.

Since March 2002, there  is a big change in Air Brake Endorsement course. Now this 12 hour Air Brake Course includes theory as well as practical.

This course is presented under the recognized authority of the Ontario Safety League according to the guide lines of the Ministry of Transportation, Ontario
 
 

Prerequisites:

Drivers must hold a valid Ontario’s Driver Licence with ‘G’ Class

  • Foundation brakes and brake adjustment
  •  Inspecting Air Brake System Components
  •  Functional check and inspecting Air Brake Adjustments

AIR BRAKE ADJUSTMENT

Course Description:

Air Brake Adjustment course intended to provide information on laws, regulations and correct procedures for checking and performing Air Brake Adjustments.

Trade Qualification & Apprenticeship Act-amended by Reg.269/96 This 1996 amendment allowed drivers to adjust air brake chamber push rod stroke on trucks and trailers so equipped, provided that they had successfully completed an approved course of study.

This course is presented by the Ontario Safety League on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Training, Ontario.

 

Prerequisites:

Drivers must hold a valid licence with ‘Z’ endorsement

TDG - TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS

 

Course Description:

Both federal and provincial regulations require that Any person involved in the handling, offering for transport or transporting of dangerous goods must be trained and certified.

Course Description:

BORDER CROSSING (CANADA & US)

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide the student with a  information, understanding and leads you need to ensure that you, your vehicle and your load will comply with Canadian and US border crossings and ICC regulations apply to commercial truck driving.

In this course, the student is taught customs documentations, Canadian and US border regulations, and US licensing regulations. This course is designed for working a commercial transportation capacity.

AXEL WEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS

Course Description:

Commercial vehicles in Canada and US are subject to legislated axle weight limits. While excesses can result in heavy cost of fleet operators implementing compliance strategies can increase profits considerably. In this one-day seminar participants will understand how to reference and apply legislation for commercial vehicle weights. The

LOAD SECUREMNET

Course Description:

In this course, you will recognize and identify load securement elements and their properties, safe and legal securement and distribution methods and apply tiedown regulations to varied cargo. You will learn how to tie down loads, and to evenly distribute the weight of the load. You will be instructed on proper chaining and tarping procedures as required by regulations, as well as the proper use of various other types of securing equipment.

Participants in the Load Securement program study the methods and tools for proper load securement. This five hour program includes both classroom instruction and practical, hands–on training securing various types of loads using various methods and tools.

MAP READING & TRIP PLANNING

Course Description:

This course is aimed at the complete novice as far as map reading is concerned.  You will be given instructions on how to read an map using local terrain and landmarks as focal points. You will also learn how to take, give and find a grid reference point.

Discover proper map reading and trip planning, which are essential to the job. With fuel being the largest single cost of a trucking company, students must get to the next stop on time and travel the shortest distance possible.
